The FloJak Plus is a 2" diameter hand well water pump featuring a rugged, sanitary grade stainless steel upper. It is capable of lifting water 50 feet from the static water level in your well.
This hand crank water pump utilizes an innovative pumping mechanism to push water up from the submerged end, through a hollow sucker-rod, exiting water through the stainless steel handle. It is capable of delivering pressurized water into the household plumbing system. This convenience will enable normal flushing, showering and running water at the sink for washing. This feature is accomplished by pumping water through a high-pressure GatorHyde hose which connects from your hand well water pump to an outdoor faucet (or any other available access point).
The hand well water pump comes with a universal mounting bracket which will secure FloJak to the top of any open well casing 4"or larger. For more permanent installations, a common well seal may be utilized to secure FloJak while accommodating the existing electric pump, and providing a water-tight cap for the well.
FloJak is a unique "Tee-Handle" hand crank water pump with a variable stroke capability ranging from a few inches to almost 5 feet. This allows FloJak to instantly adjust to a comfortable pumping position for any operator...short or tall. The Tee-Handle design utilizes upper body strength and weight for pumping, and is ergonomically superior to other designs. This hand well water pump system does not require an additional lever handle accessory until lifting water from more than 50 feet, or developing the extra force needed to pressurize the household water system. There are two lever arm handle options for reducing pumping work. MiniJak is a lower cost single-grip lever, which is great for lifting up to 100 feet. PowerJak is a longer double-grip lever for deeper depths or pressurizing for running water. Both lever handles bolt easily to the mounting bracket that comes mounted to each FloJak pump.
This hand crank water pump system may be assembled to any length in 5 foot increments. It is important that the assembled length extend well below the static water level to provide a good reservoir of available water, protection from draught and cleaner water which is more thouroughly filtered with depth. Additional pipe is available in 50-foot extension kits.
Assembling hand water pumps for wells is not difficult or lengthy, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Allow an hour or so for assembly, 24 hours for the glue-joints to cure, and 30 minutes or so for installation into the well, depending on the length of your system. The Tee-Handle will deliver from 5 to 10 gallons per minute depending on the distance to water, and how hard you want to work! Lever handles make the work easier, but will shorten the stroke, which also reduces the stroke volume.
FloJak hand crank pumps come from the factory with a weep-hole at about 5' from the top. This will drain the water off after pumping to help avoid damage from freezing. Lower weep holes may be easily added prior to installation to protect your pump in more extreme cold conditions.
The shelf life for this hand well water pump will easily exceed 20 years. Make certain that you have everything required so that you are prepared when you need water. I bought this item specifically for power outages because I live in Florida and they occur often during hurricane season. It is entirely likely we will lose power for 7-10 days depending on the severity of the storm. I have a back up generator for essentials like fridge and freezer, but I dont want to be gasoline dependent for the most essential thing my family needs,..water. So, I shopped with the competitors and they want $2000+ for a product that meets my same goal. I installed this pump in an hour and paid a well company to assist just to be sure it was installed correctly. I could have installed it by myself, but I needed it to be right the first time and I wanted the install to be under warranty The guy from the well company was so impressed with the operation and ease of install that he has started recommended this unit to his other customers. Im very happy with my purchase; it meets my needs on my budget. And it was quite reassuring that I made a solid investment when my well guy was impressed and asked for the info so he can start suggesting this product as a more affordable option to his customers over other products and competitors.
Pump was easy to assemble and worked good from the beginning. The packing material was damaged but not the pump inside. The description and the cup were missing. For this kind of construction and the material I think the price is too high.
I followed the instructions to the letter. With the help of one other person I was able to easily guide the 50 foot section down my well casing. Once secure and with seven strokes I had water. I could not be more pleased with the product.
